Manor House School hosted an exciting STEM Stars: Mission Discovery Day, during the October Half Term, inspiring pupils to explore the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through creative, hands-on challenges.
The day began with a presentation introducing the theme “Mission Discovery”, encouraging students to imagine themselves as young astronauts and engineers on a journey through space. Working in teams, pupils completed a series of missions designed to test their curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
The missions included activities, such as: A Space Quiz to test their knowledge of the solar system, Alien Substance Investigation inviting budding scientists to analyse a mysterious material and Crack the Cosmic Code challenged pupils to apply logic and maths skills to solve space-themed puzzles.
Throughout the day, the enthusiasm and teamwork displayed by students were exceptional. Each group demonstrated resilience, collaboration, and a real passion for discovery. Teachers were impressed by the innovative ideas and problem-solving approaches shown by all participants.
The event concluded with a celebration assembly where pupils received their STEM Star Certificates for completing their missions. Smiles, cheers, and a shared sense of achievement filled the room as students reflected on what they had learned.
Mission Discovery Day was a huge success, fostering curiosity and confidence in STEM subjects and inspiring pupils to continue exploring, experimenting, and dreaming big about their futures in science and technology.
