Last Friday, Class 5M had a day in the life of Victorian children. We were supposed to go to the Guildford Museum but, because of Covid 19, we couldn’t. It didn’t matter though because we had a brilliant day at school and dressed as Victorian children.

Year 3 travelled to Chichester in October to visit Fishbourne Roman Palace and study the Celts and Roman. It was a glorious autumnal sunny day and due to previous national restrictions, it was their first outing as a class and they were so excited!

This year, Manor House School, Bookham celebrates 100 years since its formation in 1920, when it began as two small classes set up by founders, Elizabeth Green and Lillian Wheeler. Their legacy lives on and Manor House School continues to uphold the original school motto of 'To Love is to Live'; to wish pupils to 'love learning', to 'love each other' and to 'love themselves'. But what does this mean?

This September marks 100 years of Manor House School. Founded in Devon during the days of the British Empire, Bookham has been its home since 1937. Centenary celebrations are planned throughout the 2020-21 academic year.
