Senior Gifted and Talented Group Learn from Local Bookham Business

Posted: 26th February 2020

Academic Scholars and members of the Senior School's Gifted and Talented Group in Years 8-10 enjoyed a visit to Ray Lewis Sportwear and Embroidery Shop in Bookham on Tuesday.

This term, the Group has been focusing on the world of work. Their visit to this local business allowed pupils to understand how a company works in context.

The girls received a very engaging talk from the owner, and witnessed first-hand how technology and tradition combine when they were given a demonstration of the computer-controlled embroidery machine.

Students came away with an appreciation of the skills required to run one’s own business, as well as the advantages of having good qualifications and a strong academic background in the world of work.
