We were delighted to welcome Holroyd Howe's Regional Executive Chef, Stephen Owen, at Manor House School today.

Stephen joined Mrs Chard and the Catering Team to showcase different breads from around the world, the diversity of flavouring and colour in bread making and to talk about how various breads are made. It was another brilliant food demonstration by Holroyd Howe offering girls the opportunity to sample alternative breads and textures during their lunch hour.

Stephen and the Catering Team had been busy making various types of dough during the morning and pupils sampled various breads from the more bizarre to the traditional; Za'taar, Marmite, Curry and Beetroot flavours were available to taste, alongside the more recognised Ciabatta and olive Foccacia breads. Different types of dips including basil oils, hummus and chick pea accompanied the tastings.

The regular food demonstrations and briefings mean that girls get to try different types of foods from different areas of the world and broaden their food knowledge as well as their palates!
