Eighty Per Cent of Pupils Awarded LAMDA Distinctions

Posted: 8th May 2019

Our extra-curricular opportunities at Manor House School are vast. The extensive range of clubs and activities each term enable pupils to refine their skills and develop new interests.

Participation in our extra-curricular programme helps to build confidence, make new friends and inspire pupils to become future leaders. The success that our girls achieve in co-curricular LAMDA examinations are no exception. We offer LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) lessons from Year 3 to Year 11 in the form of Acting, Speaking Verse and Prose and Using Spoken English (Speaking in Public). Girls can choose from these pathways which ultimately lead to examinations in their chosen field. Almost a third of pupils choose to take LAMDA lessons in addition to their normal curricular subjects. This year, 80% of girls who took LAMDA lessons were awarded Distinctions, with the remaining girls awarded Merits. Congratulations to all - an amazing achievement!
