Design Technology Project in Year 6

Posted: 25th January 2019

2dr and 6h

Girls in YearSix have completed their Design Technology project and delivered their creations to the girls in Year 2.

The Year Six girls first needed to make a pattern that would fit – it took several goes. They learned how to pin, tack, hand-sew, hem and machine sew; many girls even learned to sew on buttons for decoration. The girls cut out all their own fabric and learned about how to sew with right sides together so the seams are on the inside.

The mittens are lined with a warm wadding and have bright outers. Year Six hope the Year Two girls will enjoy wearing them.
