It is my great pleasure and privilege to be Headteacher at Manor House School, Bookham.
I do hope that our website gives you a flavour of all that is exceptional about our girls’ school and co-educational nursery and I very much hope that you will be inspired to visit us and find out more…
‘Our teachers make our lessons fun and I always feel excited to come into school after the weekend as it is such a happy place to be.’
‘It is friendly and supportive, and you can always find someone to talk to if you need help.’
‘The thing I am most grateful for at MHS is the number of events that involve the whole school (like House Arts, productions, Sports Day, Swimming Gala, Rock and Pop) as it makes the school feel like a community and it encourages everyone to get involved.’
‘My favourite thing about Manor House is that we are all a team, I feel I can express myself without judgement or fear of making mistakes.’
‘What I love most about Manor House is the sense of community that you get between students and staff. The relationship between students and staff is amazing and all the staff are so approachable.’
‘Manor House feels like a family because it is small, and everyone knows each other. It feels like a safe place to be where I always feel comfortable and happy.’
‘I love MHS because it’s like a big family. Everyone is so supportive and it’s such a happy environment.’

Founders Day is always a special moment in the school calendar, giving us the opportunity to reflect on our history and the values that continue to shape our community today.
This week, we proudly celebrated Founders’ Day with a heartfelt assembly led by our Year 6 pupils, who brought our school’s story to life through beautifully delivered poems and fascinating tales from the archives.
In a moving tribute, our Form Captains planted flowers on the graves of Miss Wheeler and Miss Green, honouring the legacy of those who helped shape our school and the generations of pupils who have followed.
And, of course, no Founders’ Day would be complete without a much-loved tradition. Pupils and staff alike enjoyed delicious iced buns at break time, a highlight that brought everyone together and added a touch of sweetness to the celebrations!
A thoughtful day of remembrance, reflection and gratitude, connecting our pupils with the rich heritage that inspires our future while helping them become future-ready and thriving individuals.
