Prep School Pack

Welcome to Manor House School! We are delighted that your daughter will be joining our Prep School, and we want to ensure that the move into her new school is as happy and straightforward as possible for the whole family.

This page contains all of the essential information you will need as you prepare for the start of term. Please read through the details below and do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

Settling In

We know that joining a new school can feel like a big step, whether your daughter is moving up from our own Nursery and Kindergarten or arriving from another setting. Our Prep School staff are experienced at helping girls settle in quickly and confidently. Before the start of term, your child will be invited to a welcome visit where she can meet their class teacher, explore her new classroom, and begin to get to know their classmates.

What does a typical Prep School day look like?

The Prep School day runs from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, with a supervised early drop-off and after-school care available for families who need it. Your child will follow a broad and engaging timetable that includes core subjects alongside specialist teaching in areas such as Music, Sport, Art, Drama, and Modern Foreign Languages. Full details of the Prep School curriculum can be found on our Lower Prep and Upper Prep pages.

Uniform

All Prep School pupils are expected to wear the full school uniform. A complete uniform list, along with details of where to purchase items, can be found on our School Uniform page. Please ensure that every item is clearly labelled with your child’s name.

Equipment and Stationery

Your child will need a school bag large enough to carry her reading book, homework folder, and water bottle. The School provides all core stationery and exercise books. A full PE kit is also required, details are included in the uniform list.

What clubs and activities are available?

One of the highlights of Prep School life at Manor House School is the wide range of clubs and activities on offer, from Sport and Music to STEM, Drama, and Forest School. Details of the current clubs programme are available, and your child will have the opportunity to sign up at the start of each term.

Communication and School Portals

We use several platforms to keep parents informed and connected. The Involve app is our main channel for day-to-day communications, updates, and permissions. Showbie is used for homework and learning resources, and SOCS provides information about clubs and sports fixtures. You will receive log-in details and set-up guidance for each platform before the start of term. Our School Portals Help guide is also available if you need assistance.

What forms and documents need to be completed?

Below you will find important documents to download and review ahead of your child’s start date. Please complete and return any required forms as soon as possible.
