Welcome to the Manor House School family! We are thrilled that you have chosen our Nursery and Kindergarten for your child, and we want to make the transition into Sschool life as smooth and enjoyable as possible, for both you and your little one.
This page brings together all of the key information you will need as you prepare for your child’s first days with us. Please take a moment to read through the details below, and do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions at all.
Settling In
We understand that starting Nursery is a big step, and every child is different. Our experienced Early Years team will work closely with you to create a gentle settling-in plan tailored to your child’s needs. In the weeks before your child starts, you will be invited to attend a settling-in session or two so that your child can begin to explore their new surroundings, meet the staff, and feel at home before their official start date.
What does a typical Nursery day look like?
Our Nursery and Kindergarten sessions run during term time. Details of session times, daily routines, and the options available to your family can be found on our Nursery & Kindergarten page. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, and each day is carefully planned to offer a rich balance of adult-led activities, child-initiated play, outdoor exploration, and creative learning.
What Your Child Will Need
Please ensure your child comes to Nursery each day with the following items, all clearly labelled with their name: a waterproof coat, a pair of named wellies to be kept in school, a change of clothes, and a water bottle. Information about Nursery uniform can be found on our School Uniform page.
What food and snacks are provided?
A healthy snack is provided each day for all Nursery and Kindergarten children. If your child has any dietary requirements or allergies, please make sure these are communicated to us before your child’s start date so that we can make the appropriate arrangements.
How will I stay updated on my child’s progress?
We use Tapestry to share updates, photographs, and information about your child’s learning and development. You will receive details on how to set up your account before your child starts. Our Nursery team is always available at drop-off and pick-up for a quick chat, and we hold regular parent consultations throughout the year.
