Rugby

In lessons, the girls have been enjoying a variety of activities across Key Stages, including Netball, Hockey, Football, Rugby, Swimming, Forest School, Yoga, Fitness, Badminton, Volleyball and Taekwondo taster sessions.

We have been able to offer extra-curricular clubs in Tennis, Swimming, Trampolining and Taekwondo as well as our team practices for Netball, Hockey and Football. There has been Running Club in the mornings as well as squad training for our Cross-Country and Triathlon teams.

We invited a number of internal and external clubs to our Clubs Fayre at the beginning of the year and it was good to see representatives from Dorking Swimming Club, Effingham Rugby Club, Surbiton Hockey Club and Predator Taekwondo Club.

Manor House has been hosting the Mole Valley U11 Netball League as well as the Mid Surrey Netball League.

The Year 11 GCSE pupils travelled to Bath for the 'Girls Go Gold Conference' where they took part in various workshops and were inspired by guest speaker Major Nics Wetherill, who led the first all women team to cross Antarctica first and met England netballer, Pamela Cookey.

The sports teams have taken part in a number of matches this term in Netball, Hockey, Football, Aquathlon, Swimming and Cross-Country. Girls from Year 3 to Year 11 have represented the school across eighty one fixtures.

We have had many successes across all sports but some of the highlights include Izzy W coming third in her age group at the GHS Aquathlon and Alice M coming fifth in her age group at the Hever Castle Triathlon.

Surrey Netball Tournament

We entered the U15 and U16 teams into the Surrey Netball Tournament. The U15’s won three out of their five games and did well to beat Rosebery, Gordons and St George’s. They ended up third in their section.

In their tournament, the U16’s only lost two games. They won against Alleyns, Emmanuel, Rosebery, St Teresa’s, Royal Russell and drew against Surbiton High. They came third and now have got through to the Surrey Finals in March.

Sisters n Sport

We have entered the Sisters n Sport tournament for U16 Netball and U13 and U15 Football. The U16’s were unlucky to lose their Cup game against Royal Russell in the last few minutes of the game. This meant they were in the Plate play off competition. This week they played St Lawrence’s College, Ramsgate and won 30-23.

The U13 Football team won their first game in the Cup competition, 3-1 against All Hallows School. The U15’s are yet to play their first game.

ESAA Cross-Country Cup

The U13 Cross-Country team of Elin, Jessie, Amelie, Alice, Georgie and Talia took part in the Surrey round of the English Schools Cross-Country Cup. They came third overall beating St Catherine’s, Howard of Effingham, St George’s, CLFS, Wimbledon, Gordon’s and Box Hill Schools. They have now got through to the Regional Finals in Tonbridge on Sunday 9 November.

Well done to everyone who has represented Manor House School so well in the last half term. We look forward to continuing our success and enjoyment of all sports next half term.
