Prep School Reverse Advent for North Guildford Food Bank

Years 3 to 6 of the Prep School participated in a Reverse Advent initiative this year. A reverse advent calendar is typically where you pick up one item a day to donate to a Foodbank and put it in a box. Collecting a box to donate to a Foodbank is a really good way to show students that Christmas is a time for giving and not just receiving presents.

Each pupil was given a day on which they were asked to bring in their donations which were then combined together and taken to North Guildford Food Bank.

Zoe from the North Guildford Food Bank said, "Thanks for the additional donations from Manor House School. What amazing generosity on top of all that we had brought back last weekend from you! We had a hugely busy day, but do feel that we are now well set up to provide generous parcels to clients who need help over the next couple of weeks (always our busiest time of year). We are particularly pleased to also be able to offer lovely Christmas bags with Christmas treats in them. These are going out to all clients (starting from last Friday). A wonderful thing to be able to offer - and entirely thanks to the generosity of donors like Manor House School. Please pass on our thanks to all the children."
