Engineering Team Win Place in Grand Final of SATRO Physics Challenge

Posted: 21st February 2018

SATRO CHALLENGE

On Thursday 8 February two senior teams from Manor House School made their way to George Abbot School in Guildford for the regional heats of the annual SATRO Problem Solving Challenge. This is a wonderful event testing the girls’ Physics knowledge and their creative abilities to problem solve.

SATRO provides real-life experience of all aspects of the working world, particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) through a diverse and challenging range of programmes. The aim is to inspire young people, fuelling their passion and enthusiasm for future careers in STEM and this is actively encouraged in our girls at Manor House School.

Details of our senior girls’ construction task are ‘top secret’ as there are still other heats happening around Surrey. But both teams did extremely well with the Key Stage 4 team coming an excellent second place. They are now excited about the Grand Final, which takes place at ACS Cobham next month.
