At Manor House School, we believe that preparing our girls for their futures is just as important as the academic qualifications they achieve. Our careers programme is designed to inspire confidence, broaden horizons, and equip every pupil with the knowledge and skills she needs to make well-informed decisions about her next steps, whether that is further education, an apprenticeship, or the world of work.
A Programme That Grows With Your Daughter
Careers education at Manor House is not something that begins only in the final years of school. From the Upper Prep onwards, we introduce age-appropriate activities that encourage our girls to think about their strengths, interests, and aspirations.
Will my daughter receive personalised careers advice?
Every girl at Manor House is an individual, and our approach to careers guidance reflects this. Our pupils have access to impartial, personalised advice to help them navigate their choices at key decision points, including GCSE option selections and post-16 pathways. We work closely with each girl and her family to ensure she feels supported and well-prepared for whatever direction she chooses to take.
What careers experiences and opportunities are available?
We are committed to bringing the world of work into school and taking our girls out into it. Throughout the year, pupils benefit from a rich programme of enrichment activities, including talks from visiting speakers across a variety of careers, workshops, university and college information events, and careers fairs. We also encourage and support work experience placements, giving our girls the chance to gain valuable first-hand insight into professions that interest them.
Preparing for Life Beyond MHS
Our careers programme sits alongside the wider pastoral support and guidance our girls receive as they approach their transition beyond Manor House. Whether a pupil is exploring Sixth Form options through the Effingham Schools Trust, researching university courses, or considering alternative routes into employment, we are here to guide and support her every step of the way.
What careers resources and support are available?
We regularly share information about upcoming careers events, open days at colleges and universities, apprenticeship opportunities, and other useful resources. Pupils and parents are encouraged to speak with our careers team at any time for advice or further information.
