Every year, in the last week of term, Manor House School creates a very special final four days of the academic year. In 2019, the theme is ‘Around the World in Four Days’ with a focus on the topical issue of climate change, as well as learning about world culture.
Pupils go ‘off timetable’ with a view to learning about different cultures, experiencing new challenges and taking part in activities not usually covered in the national curriculum. Encompassing two dress-up days and culminating with a British Garden Fete organised by Year 10 (of which proceeds go to charity), pupils are involved in a medley of activities, workshops, explorative lessons, theatre sessions and learning experiences. Everything from the food that students eat, to the exercise they undertake, to the languages they learn, are globally themed.
It’s a fantastic end to the school year and promotes friendships and cross year-group involvement. To view the timetable on each day, see below.
