Our Setting

Our Nursery is a calm, caring environment where your child can discover, absorb, learn, play and have fun. Our pupils learn to care for others and for their environment. They become independent, confident individuals with excellent social skills and emerging self-discipline.

The Manor House Nursery is based upon the Early Years Foundation Stage with elements of the Montessori system, an approach that draws its principles from the natural development of the child.

Mrs Ferrey, our Nursery Teacher, leads a team of fully qualified Early Years practitioners, all of whom are highly trained to build positive relationships with every child, deliver the best possible care and promote excellent academic standards. Nursery children are divided into small working groups, each with their own key member of staff. The setting is Ofsted registered and has been widely praised by inspectors from both Ofsted and ISI in recent years.

We have our own Forest School and purpose-built Early Years facilities. These include two wonderful play areas; an outdoor all-weather playground which includes sand and water play, climbing frames, lots of bicycles, a train and much-loved pirate ship and an orchard garden.  Mrs Roy has achieved a Bronze Woodland Trust Award in recognition of her excellent outdoor learning provision.

Our outstanding, purpose-built classrooms are located in a quiet, secure area of the school and provide a happy, dedicated environment for your child. All classrooms have easy access to an all-weather outdoor playground and the children also benefit from regular outdoor learning sessions in The Dell – an outdoor classroom set amidst our extensive grounds where the children regularly explore and engage in nature walks and practical learning activities.

“Personal and emotional development is a strength throughout the setting. Behaviour is excellent, due to the example set by the caring and committed staff.” – ISI Inspection Report
