Our Preparatory School is made up of our Reception Class and Years 1 to 6. We are a selective school and therefore places are offered at the discretion of the Headteacher and following satisfactory completion of a taster and assessment day (or observation session in the case of Reception applications). As a guideline, applicants should be performing academically at nationally expected levels.
We welcome applications mid-year for all year groups, subject to the availability of places.
Our Reception Discovery Afternoon is held in November prior to the September entry. Please enquire directly with admissions regarding a later application.
Our entrance examinations morning for Year 3 applications is held in early January prior to the September entry. These examinations are comprised of English and Mathematics assessments and a short interview. We accept late or mid-year applications subject to availability of places.
For Years 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6, you will be asked to visit the School, meet with our Headteacher and then your daughter will be invited to a taster and assessment day. Age-appropriate assessments are undertaken in reading, writing and mathematics by the Head of the Prep School during this day and consideration is given to a girl’s social integration and emotional development. A final offer is then made, subject to the outcome of this day.
The Prep School registration fee is £50 for Reception and £75 thereafter. The deposit payable on acceptance of a Prep School place is £500 for Reception Class and £800 thereafter (this is refundable less any outstanding fees/disbursements at the end of your daughter’s education at Manor House School).
