Our Preparatory School is made up of our Reception Class and Years 1 to 6. We are a selective school and therefore places are offered at the discretion of the Headteacher and following our admissions processes below. As a guideline, applicants should be performing academically at nationally expected levels. We welcome applications mid-year for all year groups, subject to the availability of places.
Our Reception Discovery Event is scheduled for Thursday 19 November from 1.30 to 2.30pm and due to national restrictions will be a virtual event. Families should submit their application form and fee in time for the event in order to be included, or by end of the Autumn term 2020. Later applications are welcome. Please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
Our Year 3 Discovery Taster will start with a ‘live’ session scheduled for Thursday 19 November – time to be notified – under the theme ‘Jim and the Beanstalk’ and will run as part of a 3-week series up to and including Thursday 3 December. Families should submit their application form and fee in time for the event in order to be included in full or part, or by Monday 30 November for entry exam assessments only. Pupils must sit and pass our digital assessments in addition to providing a satisfactory reference from their current school. We may also conduct virtual interviews.
Your daughter will sit our entry assessments which are held digitally in light of the ongoing Covid situation via their current school. Confirmation of the final chosen online assessment provider and details of the assessment specifics, time window and duration will be announced in November. In addition to the assessments, we will seek a full reference alongside the usual school report (as normal) and candidates may be asked to attend a virtual interview on either Friday 8 January or Saturday 9 January or nearest convenient date thereto. We may need to change these arrangements in line with Government guidance at the time.
We accept late or mid-year applications subject to availability of places.
For Years 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6, you will be asked:
We are currently unable to undertake on-site taster and assessment days. Pupils would normally sit assessments in English and Maths in Preparatory year groups, but instead baseline assessments may take place when the students joins us.
