Every Friday lunch time, a group of talented writers from Years 7 – 11 meet together.  This is a student-led time when the girls can spend time sharing and exploring ideas for their next writing or just use the time to write freely.

It’s lovely to see the younger girls discussing their ideas and taking pointers from the older girls.  One of the aims of the club is to enter competitions so that the girls’ work is read by a wider variety of readers than just their English teachers.

The girls have recently completed a short story for the Rotary Young Writers Competition on the theme, ‘A Different Perspective’ and next month they are entering a competition organized by the musical ‘Wicked.’

Watch this space for any news of successes and copies of the girls’ writing.
