Birthday Book Scheme

Posted: 6th October 2017

In the seven years since our ‘Birthday Book Library Scheme’ started in September 2010 supported by the Friends of MHS, over 400 books have been donated to the library by pupils to celebrate their birthdays.

Girls can donate a favourite book and receive a special book plate to go inside it.  The named plates are presented to the girls and then attached to the inside cover.  The Library displays each book as a ‘thank you’ on the ‘Birthday Book’ notice board for all to see, plus a mention in the weekly Newsletter.

Donated books are added to our library stock and we have over 16,000 reference materials and books now available for pupils to enjoy.  Although the scheme is optional, it is hoped that the steady flow of books will continue to arrive at the Library in the future with the support of our parent community. Please send any Birthday Book donation to the Library Resources Manager, Mrs Marriott.
