Year 9 pupils created a memorial to the soldiers of the First World War in History after their visit to the battlefields of Flanders and the Somme earlier this month.
Some of the girls performed their moving poems and accounts to the class and we were impressed by their beautiful models and illustrations. They put a huge amount of effort into the written pieces of work and produced some fitting and thoughtful tributes.
Later, pupils enjoyed eating some delicious poppy cakes and biscuits – a tasty and popular memorial to the fallen.
