Girls at Manor House School in Bookham are celebrating record-breaking GCSE results with the highest proportion of A* and A grades in the school’s recent history. Girls and staff have every reason to be delighted with their achievements. Headteacher Tracey Fantham said “I am incredibly proud of all girls and staff who have worked tirelessly throughout the year and have been justly rewarded with these amazing results! With 57% of all grades at A*-A and 84% at A*-B or 9 – 6, I am thrilled that even our high expectations have been surpassed”.
Despite concerns in the media around the possibility of a fall in grades related to the new more rigorous GCSE courses, 97% achieved A*-C or 9-4 in seven or more subjects including both English and Maths. From the many individual successes, Jessica Dobbe achieved 11 GCSEs at A*-A. Isabel Glover, Eva Nightingale, Lucy Norman and Georgina Winter all gained 10 GCSEs at A*-A which will support them in their steps towards A levels and beyond.
