On Wednesday evening, Ella, Mila and Emay from Year 6 represented Manor House School at a Year 5 and 6 Public Speaking Competition at Downsend School. The girls worked well as a team and they all spoke clearly and confidently on the subject of ‘The Importance of Sports Stars as Role Models.’
Mila, as Chairperson, set the tone of the speech and introduced her fellow team members with energy and enthusiasm. Ella, the main Speaker delivered a mature and touching speech about how our sporting stars need to be role models for girls and not cheat through the use of substances. This subject was very important and meant a lot to all of the girls as all three of them love and play a variety of different sports. Emay rounded off the speech with a confident Vote of Thanks.
The girls should be extremely proud of their performance in their very first public speaking competition. Well done girls!
