Year 6 visited Epsom Race Course for a Junior Citizenship event. The morning involved learning about how to keep safe in emergencies, such as: knowing what to do if you had a fire in your house, not to go near high voltage electricity and how to stay safe when spending time at the beach. They learnt so much in every activity in an interactive way.
The fire brigade taught the girls the phrase, “Go out, stay out and call the fire brigade out.”
Pupils also learnt that you shouldn’t go or walk off with people you don’t know and we were all shocked at the amount of sugar in a glass of orange juice.
It was a great event, teaching the year group many things about safety and how to be a good citizen within the community. #happyandhealthy.
