Fairtrade Fortnight runs from 27 February to 12 March 2017. The theme this year is Fairtrade Break, as in break-time, and pupils at Manor House School, Bookham will be challenging each other to a ‘Manor House Fairtrade Break Bake Off’ which will be launched in assembly on Monday 27 February.
Each tutor group in Juniors and Seniors (Years 3 to 11) will be working together to generate ideas and agree a recipe for their tutor group to complete in the ‘Bake Off’. They can choose from difference types of brownies, cookies, cakes etc or whatever they wish as long as it complies with the theme and the rules. The girls are only allowed to use fairtrade ingredients costing no more than £5.00 per recipe. Keen bakers in each form group will take on the task in the hope of winning the charity competition for their form group.
Cake sales will be held at break-times and all proceeds will go towards raising funds for Fairtrade Fortnight. Judging of the final bakes will take place on Thursday 9 March by Head of Food Technology, Mrs Tercan.
