Our Carol Service on Tuesday 13 December truly signified the arrival of Christmas.
Rev Mandy MacVean, School Chaplain, welcomed everyone and the Service was interspersed with popular Carols for all with involvement from all choirs.
There were readings from Years 7 to 10 with Head Girl, Olivia, and Deputy Head Girl, Rose, reading ‘Christmas Festivities’ by Charles Dickens. Additional readings were made by Mr Gates, Deputy Head and Headteacher, Ms Fantham.
Parent and Staff Choirs sang a rousing rendition of ‘O Little Town’ and Year 6 performed a sketch on ‘Advent’ followed by Junior Choir singing ‘When Christmas Comes to Town’ from “The Polar Express.” Modern Foreign Languages students performed ‘Silent Night’ (the German version) followed by Years 4 and 5 with their sketch about ‘The Magic of Christmas’. Our thanks to Senior Choir, Junior and Senior Vocal Ensembles, Parent and Staff Choirs and all of the Juniors for their involvement and individual performances.
A big thank you to Georgina in Year 11 for designing the nativity scene for the front cover of the Order of Service.
A collection in aid of Crisis at Christmas and All Saints’ Church, Little Bookham was made.
