Summer term may have ended but Manor House School in Bookham, Surrey is still a hub of community activity.
Historic Manor House – named in the Daily Telegraph’s Top 10 Most Beautiful Schools list – is available as a wedding venue.
The selective independent girls school’s Grade II listed main building traces its history back to 1710 when the original Queen Anne house was constructed.
Admissions and Marketing Manager Mary Fowell said: “We have a history of holding many weddings here in previous years and the beauty of the school lends itself to it. We’ve just hosted a large wedding with a difference – tepees on the lawn.”
Manor House School’s stunning grounds are also the setting for open air drama productions. The Rose Theatre in Kingston recently hosted Twelfth Night over three nights.
The school also hosts meetings of Great Bookham Belles WI. Membership is more than 100 and there is a waiting list to join.
Also, pupils’ families and friends can use the school’s open air swimming pool during the summer holidays, creating a real lido atmosphere.
The school’s next open morning will be on Saturday October 1 2016 under the leadership of newly appointed Head Teacher Tracey Fantham. Families are welcome.
