Our Senior Drama Production of ‘Billy Elliot – The Musical’ runs across 3 consecutive evenings on Wednesday 9th or Thursday 10th March or Friday 11th March at 7pm.
Hannah Vick in Year 10 plays the part of Billy. Dress rehearsal is on the morning of Wednesday 9th March.
As one of the most celebrated, award-winning musicals on stage today, ‘Billy Elliot’ has been dazzling London’s West End since 2005. We are delighted to be one of the first school’s to bring Billy Elliot to life on home ground, after being granted one of the first licenses to perform the play as a senior school production.
“The life of 11-year old Billy, a coal miner’s son in Northern England, is forever changed one day when he stumbles upon a ballet class during his weekly boxing lesson. Before long, he finds himself in dance class and demonstrates the kind of raw talent seldom seen by the instructor …”
Our drama productions give all of our senior pupils a chance to become involved and form part of our all-inclusive approach to life at Manor House School. From lighting, to operating the sound desk, from scenery and costume design to props, to acting and singing, to playing in the orchestra, everyone has a chance to be part of our summer production.
Tickets are priced at £11 each.
After the intial sale of tickets to cast and crew the rest of the school are now invited to submit their ticket requests as soon as possible. Ticket request forms have been sent home this week, however a copy can be found in last week’s newsletter.
As anticipated, the demand has been high, particularly for Friday evening, therefore tickets can only be reserved on a first come first served basis with payment, so do ensure your remittance is enclosed with your order. If you are a cast or crew member and have not yet returned your ticket request please do so as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
