Bestselling children’s author Abie Longstaff brought her fairytale world to Manor House School ahead of World Book Day (March 3 2016).

The Fairytale Hairdresser and Magic Potions Shop author was the star of storytime for Nursery and Reception pupils at the selective independent school for girls at Bookham near Leatherhead.

Later she gave talks for Key Stage 1 and 2 girls and went on to sign copies of her latest book ‘The Fairy Hairdresser and Beauty and the Beast’.

Manor House School English Co-ordinator and Head of Pre-Prep Daniel Ayling said: “Visits from published authors give our girls something real to aspire to.

“Every girl has been involved in making a book this week and – because we are a truly all-through school – they have all had the opportunity to share their work with different age groups.”

Abie Longstaff was the first in a series of authors due to be visiting the school to inspire the children.

Earlier in February, Manor House School held a highly successful open morning. It will be holding two more open mornings on April 26 2016 and October 1 2016. Families are welcome.
