On 22nd December, TV chef Valentina Harris led a programme of Kids in the Kitchen at Manor House School. More than 60 children took part.
The event gave children an example of what the future Kids in the Kitchen sessions will be like. In this session, the children got creative by making food and crafts that they could take home for Christmas.
Parents were also able to get a taste of what is on offer for their children at Kids in the Kitchen whilst enjoying a mince pie and mulled wine.
Valentina Harris is a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals. Ms. Harris is a prolific author and has made many television appearances – she is incredibly sought-after!
As well as learning how to create certain recipes, the children were also educated on the understanding of food and healthy eating. The children attending the Kids in the Kitchen sessions are the perfect age to introduce a healthy relationship with food.
Valentina said:
“We’ve had a wonderful time with the children today. I’m incredibly excited about leading the Kids in the Kitchen programme because there is just so much to be enjoyed and learned through the understanding of food and cooking, including healthy eating.
“Club days will be great fun and children will leave with new skills, their own delicious creation and plenty of big smiles.”
The clubs, which begin in February half term, are suitable for children aged 6 to 11.
