Manor House School in Surrey has named Tracey Fantham as its new Head Teacher.
Ms Fantham will lead the independent school for girls aged 2-16 in Little Bookham near Leatherhead with effect from September 1 2016.
Ms Fantham is eager to build on Manor House School’s enviable reputation for delivering strong academic results through highly personalised learning and pastoral care within a smaller, friendly setting.
“I am delighted to be taking over leadership of Manor House School,” she said.
“As a Head, it is important to have a real belief in the ethos of the school you are leading and I believe that pupils succeed in an environment that values them as individuals, where they are thoroughly happy and where they achieve more than they thought possible.
“I believe that Manor House is such a school and I look forward to working with the students, parents and staff to build further on the school’s success,” she added.
Ms Fantham will succeed Miss Zara Axton who will be leaving to pursue a new venture outside education after eight years at Manor House School.
Ms Fantham is currently Head Teacher of Blenheim High School in Epsom, one of the leading state schools in Surrey. She has full accountability for the strategic leadership and operation of the school, a co-educational academy with 1,350 students and 160 staff.
Manor House School Chair of Governors, Paul Barlow said: “While the statutory requirements and operating contexts of a state school differ from those of a private school, academies such as Blenheim High School are state-funded independent schools with considerable autonomy.
“Ms Fantham will be bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to help us to take Manor House School to the next stage in its development.”
Manor House School will be holding open mornings on February 9 2016, April 26 2016 and October 1 2016. Families are welcome.
