Bookham AerialOn Saturday 20th June, Bookham will be celebrating it’s annual Village Day – a big event in our local community calendar and now one of the largest Village Days in the country. We are delighted to be featuring as the local independent school alongside local state infant and primary schools in the Parade and Arena activities.

Each year takes on a new theme, allowing the local school children an opportunity to take part in the opening parade and dress up to help their school win the prize for ‘Best Dressed School!’  Past themes have included Nursery Rhymes and Olympians, with this year’s theme being Kings and Queens. This theme is very suitable, given the birth of Princess Charlotte earlier in the year…

The Manor House Nursery and Years 1-4 will be joining the Village Day Fancy Dress Parade which leaves the High Street at 11.40am, with the procession continuing into the Old Barn Hall grounds. Local families line the streets to watch the parade and our girls will be following the Kings and Queens theme in our traditional colours of gold and green with a crown to finish off their look!

The best dressed school prize is often judged by representatives from Mole Valley District Council and acts as a fantastic incentive for the children to show off their creativity in their costumes and get involved with the day’s activities.

In the early afternoon, the main arena will be treated to a musical medley from our upcoming Junior Production of Mary Poppins, performed by our very talented Years 4 to 6.

It’s looking to be a fantastic day with plenty of activities and we’re looking forward to seeing plenty of you there!  Do come and support us!
