Preps French Assembly

Posted: 29th January 2015

Reception, Prep 1 and Prep 2 took assembly for the whole school on Wednesday this week. They began by teaching everyone one of their favourite hymns, “God Loves You”, complete with actions. Prep 2 told all the Junior and Senior Girls how French people celebrate Epiphany by baking a galette with a hidden charm inside. The person with the charm in their slice is crowned King or Queen for the day.  Prep 1 described how they made their own galette and showed how many French words they had learned while they were cooking, from butter to puff pastry! Everyone then enjoyed a slide show of pictures taken while all three classes were cooking, and of course the delicious finished product. All the girls then sang “J’aime la galette…”, and Reception performed a dance.  Miss Axton hoped the girls had saved her a slice of galette but was sadly disappointed as it had all been eaten!
