Once again this year we have been overwhelmed by the support that our parents and pupils gave to our Macmillan Breakfast event on Friday 26th September in support of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. We raised £1341 excluding gift aid donations – our biggest amount ever raised – a huge thank you to everyone who supported us!
Many of our girls who attended the breakfast donated their pocket money. A special mention must go to Hannah and Jessica in Year 4 who donated approximately £50.00 by selling loom bands to friends and family in their spare time. Jessica Blake from Surrey’s Fundraising Team for Macmillan Cancer Support, hosted a school assembly in the week prior to the event to help inform pupils about the Charity’s work.
Jessica said “Once again this year we have been overwhelmed by the support that people across Surrey have given and we hope to exceed £23 million through the thousands of coffee mornings that took part across the country. With 98% of our money coming from the generosity of our supporters, it is so wonderful that this day is so popular and the staff, pupils and parents at Manor House School who have been able to raise £1341.00 from their morning. This is enough to fund a Macmillan nurse for a week, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.”
