Learning German with Reed’s School

Posted: 1st May 2014

All girls learning German in years 9 and 10 went to Reed’s Independent School on Thursday to watch a performance in German of a play called “Erster Eindruck” or “First Impression”.

It was performed by native speakers from the Onatti Theatre Company. The play was very entertaining and provided a really good language level for all the pupils to understand.

The play was about a girl who has found in her horoscope that she is about to meet the perfect partner. She does not make a good first impression and there are lots of very funny moments as she tries to create a better impression. Some audience participation was required, and we were extremely proud of Laura Thomas, in Year 10, who acted in German in front of the large audience.

The German actors commented particularly on how well behaved our Manor House girls are, and what a good audience they were. Thank you girls!
