Contact With Parents

We value our relationship with parents and encourage all parents to communicate with us whenever they have a concern.  Form staff or subject teachers will contact parents directly if they feel there is a concern from the school’s point of view.  This open communication helps us to sort out issues as they arise and support the girls in the most appropriate way.

There are two sets of reports for each girl during the academic year.  There is also a parents evening for each year group, as well as an informal get together at the start of the autumn term.

There are two ways that parents can chose to become more involved with life at Manor House.  The Parents’ Association is a more formal link between parents and the school and the Friends of Manor House organises social occasions.

The Parents’ Association

Each year group puts forward a representative for the Parents’ Association with the S11 rep acting as chair for the termly meetings attended by the Deputy Head and Bursar Administration.

Questions, concerns and ideas are put forward via these year reps and information is sent back in a similar way.

Friends of Manor House

The Friends aim to organise various social activities throughout the year, including the Back to School Picnic and the Christmas Fayre which serve the dual role of fundraising and giving opportunities for parents to socialise together.  Over the last year they have organised a quiz night, a Burns’ Night party and a hugely successful “Mama Mia Mayhem” evening, where everyone dressed as ABBA and danced the night away.

The funds raised via these events are put towards projects that benefit the girls.  Recently, they have paid for the Junior adventure playground and the recently opened quiet area for the senior girls.  The Friends’ also provided a wonderful grand piano that now takes pride of place in the Elizabeth Green Hall and is used daily.
