Seniors (11-16 years)

The Senior Department covers girls from the age of 11 (Year 7) to 16 (Year 11) and culminates with the taking of GCSE examinations.

During Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8 & 9) girls follow a broad curriculum, including a choice of 3 modern languages; Latin or Classics; humanities and practical subjects. Girls undertake MidYis tests at the start of Year 7, which provides us with predicted data based on the girl’s potential so that we can track their progress carefully as they move through the Key Stage.

Key Stage 4 (Years 10 & 11) are the GCSE years. Girls take a core curriculum of English, Mathematics, Science, ICT, PSHE and Games. In addition they choose up to 4 other subjects.

At any point during their time at Manor House girls may require some additional learning support and we have a highly qualified Head of Learning Support who oversees this individual provision.

Our GCSE results are consistently above expectation and are testament to both the hard work of our girls and the support and encouragement of our talented teachers.
