Science

Pupils are taught Science in refurbished laboratories (2007) within the Mason Centre. Each laboratory is equipped to deliver all the Sciences but each one is designated primarily to one of the three Science – Biology, Chemistry and Physics. As well as using the laboratories the girls have access to the school grounds to enhance their studies. This can involve looking for lightning conductors, signs of corrosion, checking habitats of woodlice or field work in the Dell.

The Science is taught by specialist teachers in each discipline from S7 to S11.

The Davis Cup, donated by a previous member of the Science department, is awarded annually to a girl who has shown a particular interest and involvement in Science. This year the cup was awarded to Sophie Jones who is currently in Year10.
